It's fun to be one! :)

Yesterday was Jackson's first day at school! :) I had a rough night, so Don wanted me to get some rest.  He suggested taking him to class with him.  At first I thought it was crazy because I didn't know how he would do. But I was so exhausted that I didn't put up much of a fight! :) Don loved taking him to class and Jackson was a perfect angel. He wasn't fussy at all and he fell asleep so easily.  Apparently Jackson loves school! Maybe Don will have to take him more often.... :) Below is a picture of the boys headed to class!
 Happy Birthday sweet boy!!
What is all this fun stuff?

Jackson was absolutely terrified of balloons today for some reason.  He just shook and started crying....silly boy!
What the house looked like for the party.  We had some of our good friends over for the party. I thought it turned out so fun! It couldn't have gone better and Jackson got spoiled! And so did we, because Marv and Andrea bought Jackson a Red Robin gift card to take his parents out to eat!! :) yum... I can't wait to go on a date!

So....this is the final product of the "gaga" cupcake! It was so fun to make! I was a little nervous because I didn't do a trial run first, but luckily everything turned out.

Opening presents with the help of Jemma, his sweet neighbor playmate! She was excited to help him, and Jackson was more than happy to let her! :) He got a fun shape ball, a book, and a gospel abc book from Don and I...

Some sweet glasses and a cute shirt from Kayla and AJ, our neighbors! He is sooo cool....

 Everyone enjoying the party...

Dumping the balloons! So scared! :)
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Jackson....happy birthday to you! I can't believe our little guy will be one tomorrow....where did the time go??
At this point Jackson was pretty tired and not really in the mood for the cupcake...we tried a "take 2" later..

 Jemma enjoying her cupcake
Family picture! Wish I would have gotten more...oh well
 hum....

So after our tired buddy took a 4 HOUR nap, he woke up ready to play with his new toys. He got that fun walker and block set from his Aunt Candy and Uncle Rick...he loves them!  P.S. - Don't mind the nappy hair in the following pictures, our child has really bad bed head!

Yum.....who knew turning one would be this yummy?!?!?!

Gaga for big cupcakes...

So, I'm getting pretty excited to celebrate Jackson's birthday! We aren't doing anything big, just having a couple people over doing pizza and some cake and ice cream.  But I've been making plans for the last 3 months, and I decided I wanted to make a giant cupcake for his birthday.  I found the pan online for $12 which is a steal...and this is what it looks like...
Well, when we got it in the mail I held it up to show Don because I was super excited to finally have it and he just started laughing.  I guess I looked funny holding it up, I probably looked similar to the picture below...
Apparently it reminds him of something that Lady Gaga or maybe even Madonna would wear.  After some consideration I would have to agree! It's official Don said he's gaga for big cupcakes.... :)

Beautiful day at the park...

So this Saturday Puyallup experienced a beautiful day! It was so nice to go outside and enjoy it. We probably could have gotten away without jackets but the walk we went on was half in shade and it was just a little chilly in the shady spots.  We went to a park in town that is just beautiful! It has a ton of trees, a beautiful lake, and a lot of fun playgroud equipment for the kiddos. And yesterday there was a ton of kids there soaking up the vitamin D! :)
Playing in the fun bouncy car...

 Walking around on the gymnasium...
Going down one of the slides!

 Playing in the tunnel...
Going on a smaller slide by himself...what a big boy!
Going down the slide with dad...
He LOVES watching all the other kids...
By the end of the day at the park, the little guy was all tuckered out! :)

Walking...

Every week our ward has a playgroup. Any of the moms can come and the kids just play with each other.  Jackson's still at the stage where he just kinda does his own thing, but he loves it! I think more than anything he loves being around other kids.  This week there was about 10 kids but last week there was probably around 20.  It can get pretty crazy but the kids seem to love it.  Jackson is getting really good at walking. For the most part he still walks holding onto things, but it won't be long now before he's taking off without any help! He's growing up so fast!

Using his chair as a walker... he does this at home too.  With our chairs, or with his high chair, whatever he can push, and walks all around the whole house with it.

Here are a couple videos of Jackson trying the ropes of walking on his own... :)
