Jackson's surgery

Jackson had to go into the hospital for eye surgery today.  Since birth he has had a closed tear duct, which has been zero fun to deal with!  I can't even count on my two hands how many eye infections the poor guy has gotten because he has had so many because of the closed duct, well hopefully we will never have to deal with it again!  The surgery is a success 9 out of 10 times, so the odds are in our favor! :) We couldn't let him eat 12 hours before the surgery and we had to wake him up 3 hours before he usually wakes...so he was a grumpy grumpy boy who wanted his bottle!! There were several other children there for the same surgery, but Jackson had the hardest time with it.  He had a bloody eye and nose, and could not stop crying! The nurse even gave him a popsicle which made him fell better (for as long as the popsicle lasted) I felt so bad, I hate it when my kids hurt and I can't do anything to help them. While we were waiting for the surgery we took Jackson to the play room where he played with the fun, new toys and the other children. He seemed to forget all about his hunger while there! :) They had to put him under for the surgery...so he's pretty tired today!

Getting all dressed and ready for the surgery
Not very excited about it....haha...so sad!
Loving the toy cars!! He was trying so hard to honk the horn...smart boy! :)

:) I love his shocked look

 Eating his popsicle with dad!
 Poor guy....his eye/nose isn't bleeding anymore

Don's accident...

Well today I got a phone call that nobody wants to get.  Don called and told me he had been in car accident. The first reaction is instant panic, but he told me everything was fine and that he wasn't hurt.  I felt relieved, but was still very anxious.  I had to go pick him up from the crash site but unfortunately we just got a flat tire on my car from driving over some glass in a parking lot. (It's been our lucky week) :) Thank heavens for amazing friends. Our friend Andrea came over to watch the boys and she let me drive her car to go pick him up. She was such a blessing in a stressful time. When I saw Don I instantly teared up, I just felt so relieved and felt so blessed, especially after I saw what the car looked like. Well, Don had some meetings tonight from 6:15-8:30 so even at a time like that he had me drop him off at the church for his meetings. I told him he didn't need to go but he said he didn't have a good excuse not to.  I told him a car accident is a pretty good excuse but he said it wasn't since he wasn't hurt! What a trooper :) Blessings are coming our way for his diligence! :)
Attached are some pictures I took of the accident. Luckily the other guy wasn't hurt....in fact he didn't even get a tiny dent in his car!

Cheerioooooooooos!

I don't know about the other moms out there, but the thing that would drive me crazy before having MY kids was other kids making a mess of my house.  Now, it's just not a big deal as evidenced my the following pictures! :) Jackson has been getting back in the stage of loving his cheerios, and he found the jackpot and was so very proud of himself....the littler stinker :)

"Hum...how did that happen, I better try and fix it!"
"But wait, there's more in there still!"
"I think I've almost got them."
"Wait one second. Mom, why am I wasting time digging for some in there, when I have all of these ones around me?"
"This one looks like a keeper!"
"Yep....this one's really good!"
"Look mom, look at the fun mess I've made!" :)

Jackson's 1st drawing

So the other day I was at Walmart, and I decided it was time to get Jackson some crayons! I was really excited to get home and see how he would do with them. I was surprised at how fast he picked up the idea of drawing with them...what a little smarty! :)  I've saved the paper in his baby book so he can always have his first drawing! :)

 Jackson's first masterpiece!
 Pretty proud of himself

Project of the month...

It's been a while since I've been able to do a project...I just don't have any free time on my hands, its been being filled with two very cute crazy boys!  But Don picked out some yarn for me and told me I should make a hat that was similar to Jacksons. So I did, and I think it's super cute! I've attached an old picture I took of Jackson's as well. It's so fun and easy, I just make it up as I go and hope it works out. :) I think adding the little ear flaps is so fun.  Everywhere we go we get comments on the hats and people are always telling me I should try and sell them....one day maybe!
The yarn Don picked
 The finished product
It's like he knows he's super cool because he's wearing it....smart little boy :)
Giving mom a little smile..he melts my heart with his smiles, it makes all the challenging times worth it in the end!
Pretty soon Lincoln will be this big! They grow up so fast!

The AVENGERS!!!!

So this last Saturday Don and I went on a hot date! :) (With Lincoln)  We went and saw the movie Avengers. We got some movie tickets for Christmas and we have been saving them for this movie! And we were not disappointed.  The movie was amazing, it was very well done, and....we saw it in 3D! My very first ever 3D movie!  It wasn't as special as I thought it would be, but still fun.  Don actually ducked a couple of times when things were falling in the movie. Lincoln did pretty good, we had to take turns standing with him for a while, but over all he was a champ! I would rate the movie a 9.5 out 10! By the way, I'm kind of embarrassed to show these pictures because those 3D glasses are not very attractive! :) Also, I got a haircut that day too! It's VERY short, but I'm loving it!

I've attached the movie trailer for those who are interested.

The funnest thing in the world....a box!

So the other day I went to Costco and they put all my groceries in extra boxes they have, so Don got a brilliant idea...and Jackson loves him for it! :)  For several days all Jackson wanted to do was ride in the box while one of us pulled him. I think the best thing in the world is seeing a child so ecstatic over something so simple and easy!

"Really? Really? I have the best life!"

Reasons Jackson LOVES Summer weather!

1. He gets to play in the backyard with dad and make funny faces on the windows.

 2. He gets to lounge on the grass on a blanket with his dad....doesn't get much better than that!

 3. He gets to go for walks

 4. He gets to play at the parks with other kids and  play on the swings

5. He gets to play in the water and play with his toys outside!

We are loving the beautiful days here and enjoying playing outside with the boys! Hope everyone else is enjoying the weather!
