Library visit...

Don and I love going to the library to look for fun books or fun movies! Every time we go, we take Jackson to the little kid section and read him a Dr. Seuss book.  He loves them! Don loves them too, so that's why we've turned it into a library tradition. I can't believe how big Jackson is getting...soon he will be the one reading to us! How come they have to grow up so fast?? Enjoy the pictures!

Pulling a funny face for mom :)
He loves spending time with his Dad!

After reading, he gets to play around for a while...

Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving...I love taking a day to reflect on everything we have been blessed with. I'm so lucky to have a sweet, loving husband, and strong healthy boy, the church, a warm home, food on the table....the list could go on and on...

This Thanksgiving was the first time I've made a Thanksgiving dinner! I was pretty excited about cooking my very first turkey. We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Friday because we went to Don's cousins house on Thanksgiving day. They are soo sweet and we enjoyed spending Thanksgiving with them. We had a very eventful Thanksgiving.... we pulled out all of our Christmas decorations and we watched Home Alone! It was so fun! I was kinda bummed Jackson missed it all, he slept the whole day...poor guy had a little fever and didn't feel well. Anyway, I took pictures of the delicious food I made and our Christmas decorations!

You have to have a delicious pie....and our favorite is chocolate...so good!
yum...yum...yum....Don said everything was so tasty! :)
 Stuffing and salad
I made my mom's slush this year...because I loved having that around the holidays
My very first turkey.... it was pretty tasty
We were so stuffed after eating all this food....but it was worth it!
If you are interested in making the believe blocks, you can find them at ggdigitaldesign.com
I love having this banister...it's so fun to decorate during the holidays
Our Chirstmas tree, everyone who has seen it can't believe it's real...but it is! I am a fan of real trees!
Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving....and we wish you could have spent the day with all of you! :)

Christmas Tree!

So we decided to get a real Christmas tree this year.  They have a lot of tree farms up this way, so we might as well enjoy the real ones while they are available to us! We were going to be cheapos and get a fake one at Walmart for $20, but then we were told we could get a real one for pretty cheap so we wanted to look into that before we decided what to do.  But in my head I was thinking, yeah right, $20 for a real tree, it's going to be like a charlie brown tree.  But looked anyway, and found the following beauty for $20!! :) And I'm in love with it, it's the perfect tree! And I thought it was so fun picking out the tree...I think it will become a family tradition. And our house smells delicious!

Well, we will see if I can hold off until Thanksgiving to decorate it!  I also tried to take some Christmas pictures of Jackson for our Christmas card. I know they aren't at the professional level, but I think some turned out so cute! I'm so excited for our first Christmas with him.

Project of the month...

So Don and I went to Costco yesterday to get a new carseat for Jackson, and I just loved the Christmas wreaths they had.  Only they cost like $40.00! But I said something along the lines like, "ooohh that is so pretty I wish I had a wreath like that!" When we came home I was talking to my mom on the phone and Don came walking in with a handful of pine tree branches! I asked him what it was for, and he said he was going to make me a Christmas wreath! He's so sweet, he really tries so hard to make all my wishes come true! :) Sure love him.  Anyways, our neighbors just cut down their huge pine tree, so Don "borrowed" the supplies, :) and we just threw something together with what we had...and honestly I'm VERY impressed with the result!

When we got to this point we decided it needed something more.  SNOW!! If we can't get it for real here, we will make some! We tried to think of what we could use...and luckily we had leftover wall texture from when we were fixing up our house! And it actually looks amazing I think!

 Completed project...what do you think?

We decided to let Jackson get in on the Christmas spirit by playing with Christmas lights, and with Santa. Needless to say, Santa and Jackson hit it off! He loved his new little friend! I'm pretty excited to see how he will be with the real Santa! :)

Bath time...

This morning we gave Jackson a bath, and he was so happy that we just had to take pictures, I love the pictures Don took of him and I at the bottom...so fun. I'm ordering the top right one to put in our bathroom.

Big Steps....

Jackson loves playing on the stairs, when he starts to get grumpy I just go to the stairs with him. He becomes happy instantly, and gets the proudest look on his face....like he knows he is a big boy when he's playing on them, I love it! He is starting to figure out the whole crawling thing, and wants to be standing all the time, which takes a lot of time out of my day, because he will still randomly fall...and it's my job to be there to catch him! :) I love my job!

So proud of himself...as he should be! :)
