So last week was very interesting. We got a big snow storm on Wednesday and on Thursday morning our power went out. Every Thursday I try to fix a nice breakfast for Don because it's his day off from his internship, he spends his day doing homework...how fun! :) Anyways, I was in the middle of fixing breakfast when the power went out...so we had to get out the propane grill to finish. The house was pretty chilly that morning, but at that point the experience was still fun. Come Friday....not very fun, come Saturday I was definitely DONE being without power. Our house was so cold Friday you could see our breath inside, our neighbor said her indoor thermostat said it was 36 degrees...yikes. Jackson wore his snowsuit the whole time and he was so mad at us for putting him in it, but I couldn't think of anything else that would keep him as warm as that would. I felt like a bad mom seeing my little guy freeze, but there's not much you can do in that situation. Luckily some of our very sweet friends called, and Saturday we went to their house and took a nice warm shower and ate a nice warm meal, (thanks Debbi) :) Luckily Saturday night our power came back on. I don't have any pictures of Friday and Saturday, because it was no longer fun to take pictures of the adventure! haha :)

Trying to keep my feet warm...Don donated his awesome slippers!
Comforting in time of need.... :)
Our breakfast burritos turned out amazing!
Having the power go out for short periods of time is fun for me, I think it's fun to think of ways to entertain ourselves without t.v., radio, etc.. Don and I pulled out the game aggravation, we love this game. Don made it too!
When Don was helping some neighbors cut down broken branches he came across this and we thought it was so pretty. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the icicles around each pine needle was beautiful!
We lit like 10 candles...even our t-light ones! I so need to buy some more, because we had to borrow some from our neighbor. Don thought the irony of the sign above the entertainment center wasn't very funny... haha :) In case you can't read it, it says "Home - a refuge from the storm"
